Membership in the Greater Kansas City Cellarmasters is open to individuals in the area involved with winemaking. All club members are also American Wine Society Members. We have a broad range of members, from professional wine makers and vineyard owners to beginning home wine makers and spouses who enjoy the fruits of their labors. If you are just beginning to make wine or are interested in learning more about winemaking, our experienced wine makers will be happy to share their knowledge and expertise.

Our club holds monthly meetings except in November when we host our annual amateur winemaking competition, the Kansas City Wine Classic and in December when we have a holiday party instead of a meeting. Club meetings typically include wine tasting, appetizers, and a program centered around wine making and appreciation. For example, members who have won an award may provide tastes of the winning wine and discuss the process they used to make it. Or, several members who have all made a similar style of wine may bring samples so that we can compare and contrast the techniques the winemakers used and the taste of the finished products.

Dues to the club are $20 per year per family and are used to pay administrative costs and provide supplies for meetings. Generally everyone brings an appetizer and some wine to each meeting, and the wine can be homemade or commercial. Meetings are hosted in members’ homes and every member is encouraged to host on a rotating basis.
